SLS 3D Printed Parts for Drone Manufacturing
Whether you are developing a new drone platform or scaling up production of an existing design, Fuseworx can supply the parts you need. We specialise in SLS (Selective Laser Sintering) 3D printing using Nylon 12, a material that is well proven in drone and UAV applications where strength, low weight and design flexibility are all critical. We also offer SLA printing, large format FDM printing, and full CNC machining capability, making us a single source partner for complex drone development and production projects.
Why SLS for Drone Parts
SLS is our primary and most capable process for functional drone components. It produces strong, accurate parts without the need for support structures, making it ideal for the complex geometries common in drone design, from airframes and body shells to motor mounts, landing gear, antenna housings and custom brackets.
Nylon 12 offers an excellent strength to weight ratio, good impact resistance and the ability to produce thin walls and fine features accurately. It is a practical, cost effective choice for both development prototypes and production runs.
Where a smoother surface finish is required, we can put parts through our AMT PostPro vapour smoothing process, which improves surface quality and reduces air resistance without affecting dimensional accuracy.
SLA and FDM Printing
Alongside SLS we operate SLA printers for high detail visual prototypes and concept models, and large format FDM printers for oversized components or low cost development parts. This range of processes means we can match the right technology to each stage of your project rather than applying a one size fits all approach.
CNC Machining Capability for Drone parts
Through our partnership with Silvey Engineering we also offer full CNC machining capability, including 3 and 5 axis milling, mill turn, and CNC turning. This means we can supply machined metal components alongside printed parts, whether you need aluminium structural elements, steel fixings or precision turned parts. Having both additive and subtractive manufacturing under one roof gives drone developers a genuine advantage when managing complex bills of materials.
From Design to Production
We work with customers at every stage of the development process. If you have finished CAD files we can move straight to production. If you are still refining your design we can work alongside you to optimise geometry, wall thickness and build orientation for the best possible result.
This is particularly useful for drone developers who are moving from prototype to production and need a manufacturing partner who understands the process, not just a print bureau that takes files and ships parts.
Ongoing Volume Capacity
We run multiple SLS machines, which gives us the capacity to handle both development quantities and larger production runs. SLS build chambers can be packed efficiently with multiple parts per run, keeping unit costs competitive as volumes increase.
We can support ongoing supply requirements as your production scales, with consistent part quality across every batch.
Working With Fuseworx
We are based in Gloucestershire, UK, and ship to customers across Europe and beyond. You deal directly with the people running the machines. Lead times are honest, communication is straightforward and there are no surprises.
